Our reusable bamboo straws are an eco-friendly & natural alternative to paper straws, glass straws, metal straws, stainless steel straws, silicone straws & disposable plastic drinking straws. Bamboo straws are completely safe. Especially compared to other reusable straws like stainless steel and glass straws. They will last up to a year and at the end of its lifespan, you can put them in your compost. Better for you, better for the planet.
bamboo straws clean and care
To clean our natural bamboo straws you can use our version of a pipe cleaner. Our coconut fibre cleaning brush is a great tool to get any smoothie that remains out of the straw. Use warm soapy water and scrub the inside of the straw for the straw cleaner for a great clean every couple of uses. (and yes they are dishwasher safe and also fully BPA free!). We help businesses and individuals swap from single use straws to our eco friendly straws and to other ethical products. theotherstraw serves as a symbol to everything people can do in their everyday life to live a less wasteful lifestyle with less single use plastics. theotherstraw is a social enterprise addressing one of the world’s biggest challenges - plastic pollution. We’re replacing single-use plastic straws with reusable, ethical, sustainable bamboo straws.
The sad news is that it is estimated by 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean. The good news? We can do more to prevent this from happening.
We are all about reducing single-use plastics entering our natural environments and oceans by equipping businesses and individuals with reusable drinking straws and other reusable alternatives. In 2019, we expanded our range to include our bamboo utensil set, coconut bowls, bubble tea straws and other items made from sustainable materials.
